Wendy’s – Pepperoni Pizza Burger

You know who I haven’t heard from in a while? That’s right – wendysnz
.
That changed last week when I saw an advertisement for this amazing sounding burger right here: A Pepperoni Pizza Burger. Seriously Wendy’s where have you been? I don’t think I have seen a single interesting thing from Wendy’s since I started this account. Where are they spending their advertising budget? Television?
.
A Pepperoni Pizza Burger sounds like my kind of sh1t and I always find it very hard to ignore a “Available for a limited time” stamp. So I readied my steed and steeded my way to Wendy’s to demand one.
.
When I first unwrapped this burger I wasn’t that impressed. It looked like a cold pepperoni sandwich, lifted the top of the bun as part of my assessment and peered inside only to slam the bun back down in disbelief. I rotated the burger and confirmed what I saw lurking beneath the facade of the innocent looking bun.
.
There was one hell of a lot of sh1t going on here. You will see in the above photo’s a very ugly burger, but I couldn’t accurately represent what was going on in one picture. This isn’t three pictures of three different burgers even though it looks like it – These three pictures are actually the same burger from three different angles.
.
Let’s play a game: I will tell yous the ingredients and let’s see if you can spot them in the photos above.
.
Pepperoni
Onion
Beef Patty
Cheese
Cheesy Sauce
Mushroom
Tomato pizza sauce
Mayonnaise (?) – I don’t even know if that was mayonnaise tbh, I totally lost track as I exited the restaurant covered from head to foot in various sauces and burger innards.
.
But I did leave satisfied.
Generous serving of 3 slices of pepperoni combined with the pizza sauce and mushrooms really did bring an impression of pizza to mind. This mess of a burger had maybe a tad too much going on but was actually really tasty and succeeded in tasting enough like a pepperoni pizza for me to put this in the win category.
.
Wow. I managed to get through a whole post without mentioning the great pizza/burger wars.
.
Why not both? – 7/10
