Subway – Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread Sub

%%date%%

It was a dark and stormy night, when I remembered a new Subway Sub @jesslyn_x had told me of. Turns out it was actually the return of a sub that had been introduced last year, but I had never heard of it.
I love Subway and eat there fairly often, but I never found anything appealing enough to dissuade me from my usual Subway Club sandwich, which, by the way doesn’t appear on the menu in most stores anymore. I hope they aren’t considering discontinuing that meaty little amalgamate…
.

Stepping into a warm Subway from the howling wind and soaking drizzle, it was hard to miss the promotional pictures of the cheesy garlic bread subs on the menu board. Definitely looked like a meal fitting the weather.

Thanks to Subway’s method of making their shit right out in front of you, I was able to see how they make their garlic bread – and it is the same way that you would go about it. They simply take one of their breads and smear some butter with garlic and whatever those flecks of green, herbaceous shit is (Oregano? Chives?), chuck some cheese up in there and put under the grill until toasted.

I got meatball on mine, but there was a pizza one too. I tried very hard to get a decent picture of the inside, but it was a mess in there. You don’t want to see that shit, trust me, it is all cheese and topping glued together in the least appetizing manner.

Amazingly, proving once again that looks aren’t everything, the Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread Sub was pretty damn good. The bread was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and tasted just like a real garlic bread. The cheese even left them stretchy cheese strings from my mouth to the Sub, just like in the picture. The meatball and sauce went perfectly with it. There was one problem though…
.
Have you ever eaten an entire garlic bread all to yourself? It tastes pretty awesome, but after demolishing 12 inches of garlic bread, meatball and a whole mess of topping, I was ready for a nap. I curled up in the booth right there and had a sleep before venturing back out into the elements.

6 inches is probably enough – 7/10
