Wha? More chips? Already? Yes, that is correct my friends, more chips… There are a lot of new chip flavours and I hope you like chips because there is still even more chips to come after this one. I am trying to break up the reviews a bit as even I have my limits when it comes to chips. 2 bags a day max…
So it looks like our Great Uncle Kenny has been messing around again and this time has come up with a fried chicken flavour for this new offering from Snackachangi. Trying the other flavours have left Snackachangi as the current king of thick. They certainly hold their own in a pottle of dip. Snackachangi chips very crunchy. Always.
Let us also take a moment and give praise to the presentation. All of the flavours have unique packaging with beautiful original artwork and if eating chips whilst enjoying fine art isn’t enough for you, the flavour text printed all over the packaging is some of the most interesting and witty that I have ever read.
Great Uncle Kenny claims that this was made using a secret recipe using 1100 herbs and spices, but I could only identify 1099 of them – one must always take Great Uncle Kenny’s claims with a grain of salt…
Wait. Salt?! Is salt a herb or a spice? I guess it qualifies… Wow, he is right, that brings the total to 1100…
On to the eating and wow this flavour tastes like fried chicken…
Now that might not seem that surprising as it literally says fried chicken on the front of the packet, but actually I have tried too many chips that are labeled as fried chicken that taste, nice to be fair, but not much like fried chicken.
On these sliced fried potato snacks, I can taste both the spices found specifically on southern fried chicken and an underlying taste of chicken (despite, as far as I can see, containing no actual chicken). I mentioned salt before and I am going to have to warn everybody that these tasted very salty, not a downside in my books, but fair warning to y’all.
A delicious and accurate flavour on a fine chip.
