McDonalds Spicy McChicken

Recently I was invited by @mcdonaldsnz to ‘choose my spicy’ via a billboard advertisement. My three choices were: ‘Spicy’, ‘Spicier’ or ‘Spiciest’. Looking deeper into the mysterious advertising campaign revealed that McDonalds are now making their McChickens with one of three levels of spicy sauce. I always thought the McChicken could do with some spicing up. Although good, it is really just a battered chicken pattie with some lettuce and a dollop of mayonnaise.I went with all three, one of each. Three McChickens hardly constitutes a meal for sh1teater though, so I threw in some of the new spicy nuggets to make sure I wasn’t still hungry afterwards. All three of the burgers in the Spicy Range were identical save the sauce. The ‘Spicy’ had a tiny smear of ‘spicy mayo sauce’ - I guess mayo with a touch of chili(?), was better than a normal McChicken, but wasn’t all that spicy. Suitable for small children, the very elderly and people recovering from surgery. ‘Spicier’ had a whole mess of jalapeno sauce that looked like mayonnaise with bits of jalapeno pepper minced into it. It was better than ‘Spicy’ and actually had a fair spicy bite to it.Surprisingly ‘Spiciest’ was the hottest of the the three - it had a bright red/orange, sticky and sweet habanero sauce dripping all over the place. It was absolutely my favourite and was delicious. It seemed only as hot as the ‘Spicer’ at first, but the heat really started to build up as I got through the burger. The nuggets were only slightly spicy. I went with BBQ sauce which didn’t really match with the spicy flavour quite right. But my only other choice was the Sweet and Sour which surely wouldn’t be right. They still have Mustard for your nuggets in Australia. Even though that wouldn’t be right either, I really wish we could get the mustard sauce for our nuggets here. Actually, I wish we could get the habanero sauce they put on the ‘Spiciest’ that would really be the shit.Spice up your life.Spicy - 6/10Spicier - 7/10Spiciest -8/10
