Pringles – Black Pepper & Parmesan

*Insert joke about not being able to travel because of a worldwide plague here*

Once again we have a product promising to take us around the world with an exotic flavour. It is funny to me that we flock to both foodstuffs marketed as being local and we seem to be equally flocking to foods that profess to taste like exotic places like Italy.

Black pepper is a popular ingredient used in Italian cuisine, but it isn’t exclusive to Italy.
Common usage would suggest the other flavour is Parmesan cheese, or perhaps chicken Parmesan, but because Parmesan just means native to the Northern Italian city of Parma, it could equally taste like people from the great city.

I mean, Why does this sh1t even have to mention ‘Italian Style’? It says is Black Pepper and Parmasean flavour. Where else will you get Parmesan? Is there some other city called Parma? I looked on Google maps, but all I could find was the Italian one. I guess it is good that Pringles stuck with Parmasean flavour in the Italian style, instead of going with some other style, like Ethiopian or Japanese. Not sure that would’ve worked.

Upon the eating, this sh1t tasted, as speculated, like cheese of a Parmesan persuasion and of black pepper. But there was a totally unexpected flavour glaringly overt right out in front. This tasted like lemon to me. It definitely had a zing I had not anticipated. Anyone else taste that or has that Margarita chip experience tainted my tastebuds?

Looking to the ingredients I could only see vinegar powder listed as something that could be creating the extra zing. Do Parmesan people use lemon on their cheese and black pepper?

Do Parmesan people taste like lemons?

Does Italian Style mean ‘with lemon’?

Back to google and I discovered numerous recipes on Lemon Parmesan Pasta, which is mainly lemon, Parmesan cheese and Black Pepper on pasta. I am guessing this is what they were going for? Is this a thing?

Whatever. I liked it. It tasted nice.
