Oreo sometimes puts out different flavours – this one sounds pretty good: Cinnamon Bun. I really do like cinnamon, but I don’t really understand the bun part. Why are all these flavoured food producers making things so much harder for themselves? Cinnamon flavour? Easy, put some cinnamon in it. Cinnamon Bun? Sounds a bit tougher – I am just not sure how one can add ‘bun’ to an oreo cookie.Let us look at the ingredient list for some clues…
Yup, here it is right here near the bottom of the list, next to the cinnamon: Essence of bun and Cinnamon bun extract. Nah, jokes – that sh1t isn’t on there, neither is cinnamon though… It does say ‘flavour’, which could be anything at all. While I am looking at the packet, the contents are actually described as “Cinnamon flavoured cookie sandwich with doubled cinnamon flavoured Creme”. Hey damn it, what you trying to pull here Oreo? This isn’t Cinnamon Bun Flavoured at all, just Cinnamon!
These were actually really good – tasted a lot like cinnamon, the plain pale (vanilla maybe) cookie maybe could’ve been imagined as a ‘bun’ analog, so a fairly successful execution of a cinnamon bun flavour despite my earlier misgivings. It is about as close as one could realistically expect. One final point before I leave all of you to raid your local shops for cinnamon bun flavoured cookies, this Oreo flavour is also double stuffed with that white sh1t that is the filling in this sandwich cookie. Ponder this: Why not just make all of the Oreos ‘double stuff’? Oreo knows what we like and what draws us to their brand over others.
Any of yous out there have a good argument for wanting single stuff over double stuff?
Exactly.
I can’t think of one unless you are some sort of a puritanical stoic who believes that even our treats should be tempered to some degree as to not taint the soul with over indulgences in earthly pleasures. This was very sweet, owing at least partially to the x2 creme I am guessing but also but very good.
