A monster mule is the offspring of a male donkey and female horse, born under a full moon, sacrificed to the ancient gods and returned to life by infusing the recently dead corpse with the essence of a demon. With dramatically increased size, armoured plates of bone and horns, they can weigh as much as 1860 kg.

Btw, that Castlevania cartoon on Netflix is pretty awesome. And educational too.

I never expected to find a can of monster mule for sale, but here it is. I question the wisdom of creating supernatural entities usually and I am really not sure how I feel about the sale of such a product with no vetting or checks on what type of madman would purchase such a thing, but hey, the free market gives both good and bad opportunities. Who I am to question?

Standing as far back as possible I pulled the tab on the can only to hear the terrible hiss of otherworldly carbonation as sprang forth a horrifying… Scent of ginger?

Ah! I see. Again I have been fooled. A mule is also a type of cocktail made with ginger beer and lime. And Monster is that energy drink that Sam Porter Bridges drinks.

Seems only last week I was reviewing ginger beer… Ah well, I do like me a ginger beer.
This is an energy drink and contains no alcohol and good thing too because this beast weighs in at a serving size of 500ml. I know from past experience that drinking cocktails by the half litre almost always leads to trouble.

This tasted of a spicy ginger beer at first then weirdly the bite was blended out by another flavour, kind of chemically, energy drinkally maybe a hint of lime, I actually might have believed this was an RTD at this point, finally I was left with only a super sweet aftertaste. Like massively sweet. This was way too sweet to drink all 500ml but I did anyway and felt a little sick.
