Here is an exciting game we can play – Mentos version of Guess The Sh1t – buy this sh1t and try to guess what it is supposed to taste like. I am expecting this to be extra challenging as lollies very rarely taste like what they are supposed to taste like and end up tasting just like some sort of mixture of sugar and artificial chemically imitations.
I was expecting it to be filled with only white coloured Mentos, but actually they have been generous and given us a hint by colouring them differently. I am going to further guess that they aren’t being too sh1tty and that 3 colours, red, green and yellow, means 3 flavours.
Reading the packet gives us the next clue: “Pack contains three mystery flavours. Chewy fruit flavoured confectionery”. Sounds like we are trying to guess fruit flavours here folks.
Green – The first of the three I tried, I immediately could taste coconut with a background tropical fruity flavour. This one was easy, a flavour I know well, coconut and pineapple tastes just like a Pina Colada.
Yellow – First impressions – No Idea what that is supposed to be – a generic sweet fruity flavour followed by a sour and acidic hit. Definitely lime and something. I am reminded of banana, but it is not how banana tastes in candied form. Probably just being fooled by all the yellow.
Red – Very tropical flavoured…. Guava. Definitely Guava.
Right that is done, now to hand it off to the research team to enter my answers and….
Well this sucks! – I only just found this sh1t – the competition is already over and Mentos has already revealed the answers.

For what it is worth
Green – Pine-Coco flavour. What the sh1t? Pineapple and coconut – surely. Pine trees don’t taste like that at all and coco implies chocolate. Maybe don’t want to be accused of marketing pina coladas to children?
Red – Passion fruit. Bullsh1t! Tastes like guava.
Yellow – Strawberry Lime. As yes, fair enough, that was strawberry flavour in there.
Shame… I would’ve won, because Mentos are wrong and passionfruit one is actually guava.
