Look everyone, now we can get the famous Szechuan sauce in New Zealand, from McDonaldsNZ . Except as you can see from the picture above – you can’t. I was getting excited to try this enigma of a sauce on my nuggets when I enviously saw the elite of social media receive mysterious safes from McDonalds containing the announcement of the sauce. Needless to say, I went literally nuts when they revealed what was in those safes. Sorry, no reaction video.
So, I marched off to McDonalds, like a peasant, to get my very own Szechuan sauce, only to be informed that there were none left. :0
I would’ve thought the McDonalds of the world would have learned from the terrible US szechuan sauce disaster of October 2017, but no – Mcdonalds NZ has incautiously risked frenzied riots, by not making or importing enough of this shit. Luckily, I am not prone to emotional outbursts, and quietly left stopping only to turn over all of their rubbish bins.
After returning home and telling the story to my research team between anguished sobs, I learned that McDonalds had hyped the return of the sauce then artificially inflated demand by only releasing a total of 200,000 packets to the public. We only get the choice of 2 sauces in NZ and limiting the 3rd is cruel.
So I will not be reviewing McDonalds Szechuan sauce. I am very disappointed in McDonalds not so much for myself, but for my loss all of my valued followers will face, with me not being able to tell them what I think of it. Here is what some others, who have tried it, thought:

So there you have it folks, I can’t try it, but it sounds like I wouldn’t want to anyways. You might be able to find a packet of sauce or two scattered somewhere across New Zealand, but I wouldn’t bet my 2004 Volkswagen Golf on it.
