Kit Kat – Dark with Southern Australian Orange

This one has been on my radar to try for most of this year, and when I say radar I mean bus shelters, billboards, tv, radio, internet advertisements, posts on instagram, word of mouth, those planes that fly across the sky with signs trailing behind, coded notes from shadowy strangers and in prophetic visions.

It would seem that this year has been the year of the hard to find sh1t though – I am sure that when I started this account it was much easier.

It used to be all : “Hello? Ah hello adoring Instagram follower, what is that? You want me to try the new vanilla carrot chocolate potato cake burger? Sure no problem, I will just pick one up on the way home…”

But now, I can’t seem to find the sh1t I want. Most often I can find the range, but not the specific flavour I want. (Still looking for the British Prawn Cocktail Chips – damn it). I have been told by numerous exasperated store persons that there are currently complications in stocking and shipping… Stupid virus.

Exactly the same case with this Australian Kit Kat range. Everywhere I looked I found the Tasmanian Mint ones, but never the Southern Australian Orange ones. I got nothing against Tasmania nor it’s mint, but I have already tried the Kit Kat mint fudge (it was pretty good) but I really like the flavour of orange chocolate. And damn it, I was holding out for it.

No big story about adventuring to hidden temples in the Riverlands of South Australia to find this sh1t though – I just went to the supermarket one day after it repeatedly had none – and there it was. Damn it – I should’ve written a story about adventuring to the hidden blood orange temples in the Riverlands of South Australia!

Dark chocolate was surprisingly flavourful and rich for a simple Kit-Kat but the orange flavour wasn’t playing second fiddle and came across at least as boldly as the chocolate. The chocolate seemed thicker, less light wafer texture just made the chocolate / orange seem more powerful in contrast. Worth the wait, if you can find one.

O-full-range may not be available – 8/10
