Remember that time I reviewed KFC’s Waffle double down?
Well inexplicably I have been getting a huge amount of views on that post. Actually it is totally explicable now that I think about it – it is because KFC has a new double down called the Korean BBQ double down.
Oh sh1t! Looks like I am needed…As soon as I explicalled the reason for the increased interest in the old double down reviews, I donned my eating uniform and hurried off to try it for myself.
Clutching the warm, paper wrapped morsel in my hands I couldn’t help but notice something was a little different. I am pretty sure these are getting smaller, I have hardly increased in size at all since the last time I had a Double Down so it can’t be me. I’m not going crazy, it seems these are getting smaller with every iteration.I get it, inflation is rising too rapidly for my expectations to catch up and what seemed reasonably priced before – well, it might still be reasonable, but $15.99 for this amount does seems a little steep. But actually comparing it to other similar products and, it may not seem like it, but this is just how much sh1t costs now. Sorry.
This shock isn’t alleviated by the pictures in the advertisements I have seen. I mean, it is definitely bigger on that giant billboard I first saw it on, but it also seems smaller in scale too.
A happy bit of news to report however, is that this tastes wonderful. How can it not? It is just two 2 spicy Zinger Fillets with bacon, cheese and a mess load of Korean BBQ Sauce in the middle.
This was cooked perfectly, not dry nor too greasy, the one surprise being that the Korean BBQ sauce had a bit of a spicy kick to it. Not too much, just a little zing.
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟨🟥🟥Double or nothing – 7.5/10
Bonus sh1t: When prices rise beyond 100% per annum (doubling in cost) it is called hyperinflation.
