I have been spending the holidays in a very strange place called Australia. I had been warned before I came over to be very careful as everything in this country will try to kill you. Advertised as Lift with more bite, it is supposed to be a more lemony variety of good old trusty Lift. Anyone spotted this in New Zealand yet? Here is the first I have seen of it. I may be speaking to you from the future on this one. What a scoop…
I am not sure what is going on with Lift, perhaps not selling particularly well, but it seems every few years the great Coca-Cola Company tries to re-invent or add to it. Remember Lift+ ?
I held the can at full arm’s length as I cracked the tab open. I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but I didn’t want to risk having a swarm of red backs pour out over me, or a brown snake spring out into my face like one of those prank canisters, but no, there was only a carbonated hiss and and a swarm of citrus scent.
This shit was perfectly refreshing in a glass with ice to combat the 30° temperatures. It really did just taste like Lift with more lemon, more sour and more bitter. Went down a treat in the furious Aussie heat.
