I don’t know how long @nznandos have been doing burgers, but if you want to attract a sh1teater, releasing a new burger is pretty safe bet. This one has been simply named ‘The Avo’, I assume because of avocado.
I like avocado, but apparently not as much as most – I read in a ‘newspaper’ once that New Zealand’s 20-30 year olds have been destroying our economy by spending money on avocados rather than doing what every good kiwi should be doing and chaining themselves to crippling debt by entering the overinflated housing market. How dare they? The economy relies on real estate in order to continue functioning. How could anyone be so selfish as to put their own happiness in front of the needs of the economy?
I will only be doing this once, as the poor banks are really hurting at the moment and any spare money should definitely go to the banks as interest on loans and real estate agents commissions instead of NZ avocado growers and Nando franchise owners. I mean what has Nandos ever done for us?
Sure, since March 2018 they have been donating all unsold chicken to charities such as @aucklandcitymission and $0.50 from every one of these burgers sold goes towards charities, but have they been doing their part to keep the economy going? Actually yes, probably that too.
I ordered a one of these with a 1/4 chicken – both hot and while the chicken was satisfactorily, nose wateringly hot. The burger seemed to have only the mildest of zing to it. I am betting it is because the heat had been tamed by the cheese, bread, aioli and absolute monster serving of avocado. With a lot of the zing delegated to second fiddle, I actually found this a little on the bland side. Not bad, mind you, totally edible. I recommend going for the xtra hot, that is what I will be doing the next time I have paid off a mortgage.
Better than Avorage – 6/10
