Philly. Not filly.
Let me start again,
A Philly cheese steak isn’t actually a steak at all – nor is it a pizza it is actually a sandwich made with thinly sliced or shredded steak and cheese and usually some other sh1t, like onions. Guess where it originated?
No not, Middelburg the city and municipality in the south-western Netherlands serving as the capital of the province of Zeeland.
Very close though, it actually came from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hence the ‘Philly’ in Philly cheese steak
After this pizza arrived, I unlocked my phone screen and scrolled through my Instagram account to re-read some of my favourite sh1teater reviews as I imagine many of you like to do immediately before sitting down to a succulent meal.
When suddenly my eyes, widened and thumb stopped scrolling and to hovered, quivering over the screen. There was a picture of the exact pizza sitting before me. I held the phone up next to the pizza and compared, eyes flitting from the picture to the pizza and back again.
If one were to cast their mind back to the heady date of 23 June 2021, I posted a Hell pizza by the name of ‘Smokey Brisket’ pizza, well this Philly Cheese Steak Pizza looks exactly the same. Some differences tho, sure: The brisket is actually Rum & Que’s peppery Bull Dust Brisket now and the smokey cheese is now ‘dirrrty cheese sauce’ but seriously this looks like a re hash of an old idea.
Was I disappointed in the pizza? Absolutely not, I loved the smokey cheese brisket and I love the philly cheese steak pizza too. The red peppers and onion rings were delicious and went really well with the brisket and generous, saucy cheese. The steak/brisket was even crispy from the pizza oven in some places and that was awesome.
I will be marking down -1 point for originality, but this was still one hell of a pizza.

Yes it is a tasty pizza, almost the same as the Smokey brisket from 2021
