Here is another one that was passed to me just before the lockdown. @hakanoahandmade makes all sorts of good shit, like ginger beer and this chai. I love ginger beer and all sorts of spicy beverages, but I only just got the excuse to try all this fancy stuff when I started this account. I mean, what the shit even is chai? Isn’t it some sort of a tea?
Research team backed me up on this one, apparently it is actually what they call tea in some parts of the world. But chai isn’t supposed to be some lame tea bag and hot water shit, it usually is spiced with such wonders as cinnamon, cloves and cardamom (the three c’s of spicing). Hakanoa has added Fijian ginger root, black pepper and even sultanas to flavour this mix.
Off with the cap, down the hatch and… Oof!

Okay, so this stuff is a concentrate. I am not going to lie, shooting this shit raw is still nice, but it will probably make you sick. Best mix it up as recommended on the bottle for best effect. I went with milk, this is called a ‘chai latte’, I think.
As I stated before, I am far from a chai connoisseur, but this was some fine tasting shit. A mellow sweetness and spiced tending towards, but not actually reaching, a spicy hot flavour. Very tasty and refreshing, indeed.
And here is a little tip, try making this shit up with some water and old fashioned apple juice. It tastes just like an apple pie, only you drink it. Actually that tip was printed right there on the bottle and it was awesome.
