Doritos – Burn Xtra Powwer Sour Cream WW84

Um, you ok Doritos? Looks like someone over in the marketing department may have had a stroke over naming this flavour.

When @mr_wiffen recommended this shit to me, I had no idea what it even was, I was expecting maybe to find an action figure like the one on the front of the packet, but no, these are actually Doritos Wonder Woman flavoured corn chips. Didn’t I review a Doritos Spiderman flavoured chip some time ago? Hey, how come Doritos gets to mess with both Marvel and DC universe characters? Doritos seems to be a neutral zone in the comic book franchise wars.

‘Wonder Woman 1984’ is the newest Wonder Woman movie release, has anyone seen it yet? I thought the last Wonder Woman movie was pretty decent, actually. I liked the part where she put on that hydraulic cargo lifting suit and beat the shit out of the Xenomorph queen, before throwing her out the airlock into space. Actually, I might be thinking of Star Wars. 🤔

Anyways the indecipherable crap that Doritos made up as a name for their flavour is actually supposed to be a hot and spicy chip and a sour cream flavoured chip, because I guess that is what Amazonians eat. Also, they didn’t put a divider in the packet I got so they were all mixed up. I had to sort them by colour and it took me an hour and a half, before I could start the taste test.

The ‘Burn’ flavour was salty and actually pretty hot, not stupid hot- but still plenty hot. The sour cream was a little more subtle in comparison, a kind of sweet tangy sour cream but it did cool the mouth slightly after the burn. All together, this flavour was a decent addition, but nothing exceptional.

They taste like burning – 6/10
