I am going to call it, the burger / pizza wars are over. We have seen a great deal of alliances made over the past few years and now with this, Domino’s Burger Joint Pizza range, I feel like the war might finally be over.
No more shall we wage war with one another over which is the superior takeaway fast food. We shall beat our swords into pizza slices and substitute our pistols with condiment bottles. Rejoice one and all, for a great age of peace is upon us. The burger now lies down on the pizza.
Actually Domino’s already had a Bacon Cheeseburger pizza for years that I often ordered and was quite fond of, but it looks like that has been revamped too to fit in with the ‘ Burger Joint’ range.
Now we have:
The Burger Joint Hamburger Pizza
The Burger Joint Cheeseburger Pizza
The Burger Joint Bacon Hamburger Pizza
Aaaand The Burger Joint Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
The last two are just the first two with bacon I think.
After staring paralyzed with the choice of which of these enticing pizzas I was going to stuff into my face, I finally settled on the Hamburger Pizza because it sounded like the purest form of burger/pizza. It claimed to be topped with chunks of hamburger meat, red onion, tomato, pickles, mozzarella and American burger cheese (I am guessing this is processed cheese slices). All of this is finished off with a zig of mayonnaise and a zag of ketchup. (Wot, no mustard?!)
This was an excellent mash up of two of the best foods ever created. So glad they are friends now. Tasted very much like a burger, specifically a burger from that famous ‘burger joint’ that has seemed to define what a cheeseburger should taste like. New favourite Domino’s pizza – will be my ‘go to’ now, perhaps a little more topping next time though.
